OOTD | The best thing about co-ords part 1

What uppppppp. I got a new camera!
And until I figure out how to use all of the manual settings of said camera, you'll just have to deal with my hideously vampirish fair skin glowing at you.
Also, I know this is titled something to do with co-ords and quite obviously I'm not wearing a co-ord, but hopefully the theme will become apparent in my next post (or two). So bare/bear with me.
My main aim for 2016 is to cut down on the sheer amount clothes I own. And so to help me on that journey I am going to try my best throughout the year to document how a small amount of good quality items can achieve a fair few different looks. And in the process, finetune the mess that is my wardrobe. That's if I can stop buying things in one of every colour!

Top 5 | Topshop

I gave myself a few new years resolutions this year. Give blood. Start Yoga. Move out. Minimalise my wardrobe. 
And by minimalise I didn't mean buy a lot of new monochrome things. But that's sort of how this month is going. To be fair to myself, I'm working on my inner hoarder and have had at least two big(ish) clear outs. But it's just so hard to throw pieces away I have become emotionally attached to! Even if I haven't worn the majority of my clothes in 18+ months. But I'll get there. I just need to be brutal and stop worrying that I'll miss those tye-dye t shirts, pink tartan trousers and umpteen pairs of Converse. Because I really won't.

My Etsy finds

From time to time I spend a good three hours browsing through all that Etsy has to offer and falling in love with hand made, unique ceramics, wall hangings and pretty much everything else. With every intention of moving out by March at the absolute latest, I'm beyond excited to find somewhere to live and get my interior design on. 

I work for H&M Home and my life and brain has been turned into homeware and soft furnishing mush in the last few months; so much so, I'd now rather buy myself a cushion than a pair of shoes.

Whenever I look at interiors, I'm always heartbreakingly torn. Between wanting to go completely OTT Moroccan - with textures and prints and ceramics and a lot of blues and oranges. Mainly because when I went to Morocco, age 18, I fell in love with the country. I came home and decorated my bedroom with bright orange walls. Seriously. The other option is white and minimal with dark oak furniture and fringed wall hangings a la Californian desert. I can already see wherever we end up being turned into an eclectic mess of trends and colours due to my indecisiveness.

So, there you have it. My bank account is currently preparing to take a hammering in the very near future. If funds would allow it, I would only buy from independent sellers because there's so much variety, and also because for me, it's so, so important to support small businesses and creatives!

**Yeah, I do realise the prices are in dollars - but I can't for the life of me work out how to change my Etsy to show in GBP!

New year, new bag

Backpack - H! by Henry Holland

Ok, so it's the 11th January and it's taken me eleven days to bother doing anything remotely related to the new year. Probably because I've been absolutely miserable because Christmas is over and Januarys are generally just the most depressing month of the year. But anyway. 

I picked this mega babe of a backpack up for a meagre £10 in the sales. My last black rucksack recently died a death and, not feeling spending £60 on a Kanken, I couldn't resist this one on my latest trip to hell on earth (the Trafford Centre) when we went to watch The Hateful Eight. Which, by the way, was incredibly disappointing. I'm a massive Tarantino fan and Django was probably my favourite film of 2012. So, I was so bloody excited for this film! And I just found it to be really... I don't know. Meh. 

It was a great concept and story and Samuel Jackson was brilliant (obvs), and I appreciate the whole homage to old school country and western films, but it was so drawn out for the first hour! I even found myself getting bored, and I don't think I've ever experienced that in the cinema before! So yeah. I'd give it a 5/10 for how beautifully it was filmed, the acting and the last hour. Not all bad, just not his best. The last couple of chapters were incredible, but just not incredible enough to make up for the first few. I think the thing for me was how straight forward the plot was. I even prefer Death Proof to The Hateful Eight, which might be quite a controversial view - but hey ho!

Has anyone else seen The Hateful Eight yet? I'm interested to hear what everybody else is saying about it, because IMDB has given it a huge score (equal to Kill Bill) and I feel like maybe I missed something important...
